SAILOR 1911 Limited Edition Progear Imperial Black. Matte Edition 21K Gold Fine Nib Fountain Pen. LIMITED EDITION: ORDER MADE PRODUCTION. 1911 PROGEAR IMPERIAL BLACK: MATTE.

The Sailor Pro Gear Imperial Black combines a sleek matte black finish with the Pro Gear flat-top design and smoky ruthenium trim. This is one of the most distinctive and attractive pens that Sailor has yet produced. This pen is available with its special black ion-plated nib which matches the ruthenium trim and completes the deep rich tones of the Imperial Black. They are among the finest in the world today. This Week's Special: Sailor Limited Edition Matte Black.

1911 PROGEAR: FULL BODY MATTE. The Sailor 1911 progear Full-Size full body matte Black gold combines classic styling with contemporary gold trim to create a fountain pen that is both timely and timeless in appearance. When paired with Sailor's smooth-writing 21k solid gold nib unit with io, this is a pen suitable to any occasion.

Only Sailor inks should be used with this pen to avoid damage to the nib plating. I find that this pen equipped with a Sailor precisely made nib, smooth and with excellent ink control, puts it in a category of the top writing instruments in the world today. Can't decide between this pen and the gold trim version? Both are classic and stylish, but here's a simple way to decide: if you wear a watch, what color is the metal?

If you wear jewelry, what metal do you tend to gravitate toward? If the answer is silver, you may wish to choose the Black with Titanium toned trim. The 1911 in Black with Titanium trim is a cartridge-converter pen that can be filled with bottled ink using the.

It can also use Sailor brand cartridges. The Sailor 1911 Full-Size in Black with gold trim is available with your choice of solid gold 21k nib. Beautiful Full Body Matte: Progear.

This Pen has a 21kt nib in a hard fashion. It has a single slit, a round breather hole, and is engraved with: 1911, 21K, 875, Sailor nib size on the side, the Sailor anchor, and in a rhodium-plated strip, some flourishes. The nib looks thin and long, which is pretty, and I do prefer Sailor's two tone nibs to their single tone nibs, which are more common. Not surprisingly, the nib is a solid performer.

The nib has consistent ink flow - with normal writing, there are no skips and hard starts. Sailor nibs are not typically scratchy, and this one is not, but they do offer some feedback. Personally, I like this feeling, and it's different than a super smooth'buttery' nib.

It's a surprisingly wet writer, but not a gusher. The nib writes more like a Western finer version as it is Japanese nib, and it is on the firm side, although it is not as rigid as I thought it would be. With regular writing and no pressure, the nib and feed keep up easily with long writing sessions and fast writing. With some pressure, the nib does offer a little bit of line variation.

Drying times are on the fast side, given the wetness and width of the nib. I found the feed dries out a little when I used some pressure, but of course, that's not what it is designed for. Then what is the good of them?

They are the best in NIB, which gather them the reputation. SAILOR specializes on writing efficiency and nib design and makie arts. I hope you would love the pen like i did. WHY SO EXPENSIVE & HARD TO FIND.

Even in Japan they are difficult to find since Sailor no longer makes them. But they are such tough pens, the ones that do turn up are usually still in great condition. I really like how the Sailor feels in hand. Even though its not much larger, it makes the pen feel more luxury. Its comfortably sized for my hands. Its comfortable to hold, even for longer writing sessions. The balance of the pen is towards the middle.

The step from the threads to the grip is extremely minimal. No matter what your grip is, this pen should be comfortable for everyone. 1911 Progear Limited Edition Imperial Black Matte. 21k F Fine Black Titanium Nib.
