Visconti Opera Black Wall St Prototype fountain pen Fine 14kt Au nib MIB
Visconti's large semi-flexible 14kt gold (plated in rhodium) Fine nib, considered by many aficionados to be one of the best nibs in the marketplace, adorns this beauty. The pen is made of Visconti's proprietary resin, with a fluted engraved design. Cartridge/converter filler, and fitted with premium screw-in Visconti converter. Cap closure is simple screw-on system. This Opera Black model was released in circa 2002 at the time that Visconti released its Wall Street Celluloid collection. Prior to the later contemporaneous release of Opera and Wall Street Celluloid, Visconti had intended to release the black Opera model within the Wall St range. It produced an initial run of several pieces with "Wall Street" engraved on the capo band.
This is one of those pens, a rare find today. Length closed is around 14cm, length open is around 13cm, width at widest point on cap (excluding the clip) is 1.5cm, and weight is around 40 grams.
