2004 MONTEGRAPPA Chinese Zodiac RAT fountain pen sterling silver 18k gold nib

  

Limited edition 2004 Italian Montegrappa sterling silver and grey marbled resin fountain pen with 18K gold 2-tone Medium nib. Solid silver medium relief continuous scene of a rat among bushes.

The model is one in the series of pens produced by Montegrappa and dedicated to different animals of the Chinese Zodiac - the rat in this case. Good gift for somebody born in the year of the Rat: 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008 and 2020. Solid silver trims with markings: on the cap - MONTEGRAPPA and serial number of that pen 1414, on the trim below nib - MONTEGRAPPA and 2004, and on the lower part by the rotating filling plunger - 925 and Italian silver hallmark. In excellent condition, probably was never inked, nicely heavy, extremely pleasant to hold, comes with silvery gold leather case. Length capped 5 1/4 inches. Only parts shown on photos are included.
