Screw on standard cap with clip, plus extra cap on a chain, for pendant use. Button filler, with button accessible under the blind cap at the bottom end of the pen. Mint without box and papers. Marlen pens are hand-made in the Naples region of Italy, and are known the world over for their distinctive designs, and use of diverse materials.

This pen is part of the Essence series, released in 1997, and characterised by its very beautiful textured resins, stout yet elegant shape, with dual caps, and silver plated clip. A stout pen, which extends to full size when the cap is posted, resulting in an elegant, streamlined shape. The button filling mechanism is a throw-back to the pens of the 1920s and is rather novel in the modern era.

Length closed 12.5cm, length posted 14.2cm and width around 1.45cm. New old stock, with a very nice 18kt gold nib. The swirl patterns in the caps will differ from those shown in the photos.
