Vintage Sheaffer Snorkel PFM III Black Fountain Pen, GT, c1959, Boxed "Ex Cond". The Pen for Men (PFM) was introduced in 1959 and produced until around 1968.

This is the PFM III model with single colour Black Plastic body, gold filled clip and cap band and 14K inlaid nib! This is a super example in excellent cosmetic condition and just needs a seal or sac to leave it in perfect working condition. This model was introduced in 1959. All gold trim is in excellent condition. The clip is firm and properly aligned.

Nice clean White dot on the clip. The nib is a 14K gold inlaid nib and looks to be in perfect condition. The pen uses the snorkel filler system.

The snorkel mechanism is working smoothly and properly. The plunger works properly but with little resistence. The sac was tested with water but does not draw in fluid correctly. Probably needs a new seal or possibly a sac. Dip tested and writes nicely -see sample photo. Sheaffer box is in excellent condition.
