Offered for sale is a Waterman Lady Patricia fountain pen, ca. 1935, with a sterling silver overlay in the rare and desirable "Bay Leaf" pattern. This pen is, along with the 494 Bay Leaf pen, the last of the great Waterman overlays. This pen is in excellent used condition.
There is minor surface wear as shown in the photos. All the markings are clear and visible. The lever -- marked "sterling" on the underside of the tab -- works perfectly. There are two minor flea bites in the overlay on the back of the cap as shown in photo #10. There are no cracks, gouges, hairlines, broken overlay sections, or other problems. The pen is restored with a new sac and is ready to write. There are three initials, "HFT" skillfully engraved in the indicia on the barrel. The nib is a classic Waterman flexy that goes from medium to broad with moderate pressure. The Bay Leaf Lady Patricia is rare and desirable and has a nice heft compared to the plastic Lady Patricias. This pen would make a worthy addition to any Waterman collection.
